James Nadler LLB, MBA – Executive Producer, Summit Crescent
James is the Executive Producer of Summit Crescent where he develops and produces original content ranging from prime time dramas to reality series to children’s television.
After earning his AB in Film Studies from Dartmouth College, James trained as a lawyer at University of Western Ontario and received his MBA from l’Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD) in Fontainebleau France. Returning to Canada, James served as Senior Policy Analyst for the Ontario Media Development Corporation for two years and Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs of Allegro Films.
James next joined Alliance Atlantis Communications as an Executive Producer. For Alliance Atlantis, James was the Executive Producer / showrunner of the first three seasons of Psi Factor (66 hours) and won the Gemini for best Dramatic Production for The Outer Limits. James’ tween comedies include YTV’s The Zack Files and Seriously Weird. James created, wrote and Executive Produced the single camera comedy, Family Biz (26 x 30), a coproduction between Summit Crescent, Muse Entertainment, and Breakout Films (Paris).
James has written bibles and/or pilot scripts for series including Heartland (CBC), Office Temps (Global), Women on Top (Slice) and Grand Star (Space). As Summerhill Entertainment’s Head of Development James coproduced Crash Addicts and created Tow Biz (both OLN). During James’ tenure there, Guru secured production orders for two animated series and a pilot. James currently has a first look deal with Firvalley Productions to create and acquire one hour dramas and factual formats.
James also teaches television writing and producing at Ryerson University’s RTA School of Media.
